Summer Intensive
August 22-26 , 2022

DCDC's 5th annual Summer Intensive is a week long program that focuses on conditioning participants for the up coming season. With guest instructors, speakers and team building this week offers students new training techniques that will enable them to bring their best foot forward in the season to follow. It is an incredibly fun week and we always love seeing what our students can learn in such a short time!

Open to ages 7+
All abilities welcome,

Marlee trained Ms. Melanie during her time in Vancouver! We are thrilled to have Marlee come up and coach our team. Please review her bio below and be sure to give her a very warm welcome upon her arrival.

Marlee Bailey

Marlee Bailey received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Masters in Social Work from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Marlee has had the opportunity to train under and perform works by some of the most sought after ballet and modern choreographers; such as DeAnna Hiett, James Jordan, Sabrina Madison-Cannon, Jennifer Medina, Joshua Beamish, Jillana Kelly, Maria Tallchief, Allegra Kent, Merrill Ashley, Rodney Williams, Tracy Inman, Troy Powell, Paula Webber, Wendy Rubin, as well as the Alvin Ailey School. After receiving her BFA she joined a Canadian contemporary ballet company, MOVE: the Company. During her residency in Canada, she had the privilege of teaching on MOVE: the Company Convention tour and choreographing for some of the elite dance academies in the Vancouver, BC area. Marlee had the pleasure of performing in front of the Thai Royal family for Bangkok’s 13th Annual International Festival of Music and Dance. Ms. Bailey has had the pleasure of teaching, guest teaching, directing and judging across the US and Canada. She has been recognized for her choreography nationally and internationally, and has been asked to work with many different artistic groups. She has had the pleasure of performing with Quixotic Dance Fusion, Ballet Wichita, Metropolitan Ballet of Topeka, Erin Muenks, Elaine-Kimble Peaks, MOVE: the Company and Thompson Movement. Marlee is currently working in Kansas City at Perception Dance Company as the Ballet and Modern Director. Her passion is in assisting the next generation of young artists find their voice, including her past students performing and attending the Rockettes, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Miss Saigon, Hamilton, Chapman University, PACE, Oklahoma City University, University of South Florida and University of the Arts.
